With the sudden popularity of netbooks in the consumer electronics world much discussion has surfaced around the educational uses for these devices. Schools are always pressed for funds so it is only natural that the discussion is usually framed around the question “What can these devices replace?” rather than “What can these devices add to the classroom?” Education Weekly has a well researched article that frames this debate very well.

Good article. Be sure to read the comments at the end, which point out how the author has under estimated the functionality of web apps and over estimated the tech requirements for students.
However, I would not recommend netbooks for teachers. We need computers that can run multiple devices and apps, and poor processing speed interferes with lessons.
